My Academic Challenge team won first place at a pre-season tournament and qualified for state regional play. Then they took first place in their regular season league and qualified again for the same tournament. Yea them and poor me - now I gotta beg for another $100 so they can be in the regional tournament and I get to deal with quarreling seniors as to who they think should play at regionals. Oh what fun!
Social dilemma: should I (a.) stick with the first commitment and work at the theater tonight and see "The Buddy Holly Story" on stage for free, (b.) go for the high-culture evening and accept the free ticket to the opera that I was offered by a group of friends who have season tickets (one can't go tonight), or (c.) should I go for the pop-culture evening and go see the friend who sings backup as one of the TCB singers for "Dayton's best Elvis impersonator" perform at a local club - also free if I go with the singer friend.
Nothing like all social events coinciding on one night :-(
